City tours

Discover the most important sights in the company of a qualified, English speaking city guide. Experience the unique flair of the historic town centre together. As the residence town of the duchy, Coburg has always been a popular place for royal receptions and love affairs. The marriage policy of the rulers of the former Duchy of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha created connections with almost all the royal houses of Europe, some of which continue to this day.

Please note that prior reservation is required via our order form, by e-mail or by phone. We look forward to seeing you!

Coburg's old town

History first-hand

Experience history first-hand on a guided tour through Coburg's old town. Let us pique your curiosity with tales of the market place, Münzmeisterhaus, Ehrenburg Palace, the castle square and its court garden, the memorials of duke Ernst I and Ernst II, the state theatre and the Edinburgh-Palais. Visit the Renaissance ducal tomb and impressive alabaster epitaph of Duke Johann Friedrich the Middle and hear the tales they tell, as part of a tour inside the 14th century church of St. Moriz. You may even feel a touch of the reformation: Martin Luther preached here several times.

The tour lasts two hours. We offer guided tours for groups by arrangement, at a rate of € 90 (up to 20 people at present).
