World-class art collections
Coburg Fortress (Veste Coburg)
The dukes of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha began establishing art collections of international significance at Coburg Fortress as early as the 19th century. Today, the premises are open to the public as a museum. You can view the print room (Kupferstichkabinett), sumptuous Venetian glasswork, historic hunting weapons, carriages, coaches, jousting and works by German renaissance artists.

European Museum of Modern Glass
Rödental near Coburg
The light-filled European Museum of Modern Glass (Europäisches Museum für Modernes Glas) located across from the orangery in Rosenau Palace Park shows the development of studio glass from the 1960s to the present. Visitors can enjoy glass sculptures and installations as well as creatively designed functional glassware and other objects. It currently houses the largest presentation of studio and contemporary glass in Europe. Special exhibitions and events change regularly.
