Art association Coburg (Kunstverein Coburg)

Short facts

  • Coburg
  • Museums, Sights
The Kunstverein Coburg is the fifth oldest art association in Germany. Today, it is one of the largest of its kind. Its roots go back to the Kunst- und Gewerbeverein, founded in 1824, and the Coburger Kunstverein, founded in 1901. Both associations merged in 1981 to form Kunstverein Coburg in order to organise events together more efficiently. The domicile of the art association has been in the beautiful ambience of the small rose garden (Kleiner Rosengarten) since the 1950s. The association is committed to all fields of artistic creation - from graphics and painting to enamel, sculpture, and media installation. The focus is on exhibitions and artist groups with national and international reputations.
