The Catholic parish church directly at the Hofgarten was built in neo-Gothic style from 1856 - 1860.

Built in the Gothic Revival style by Vinzenz Fischer-Birnbaum, St. Augustin Parish Church was consecrated in 1860. It is the first Catholic parish church in Coburg after the Reformation. Restoration and expansion 2014 to 2016. 15 members of the Catholic branch of the Coburg ducal family are buried in the Koháry crypt, among them Tsar Ferdinand of Bulgaria. Guided tours on request.
