Since 2004, the northwest wing of Callenberg Palace in Coburg's district Beiersdorf has been home to the German Museum of Shooting and Archery (Deutsches Schützenmuseum).

Managed by the German Shooting and Archery Federation, the museum offers a captivating journey into the cultural history of shooting sports across 300 m² of exhibition space. Highlights include two pistols belonging to Pierre de Coubertin – founder of the modern Olympic Games – and an impressive collection of Olympic torches. This collection features torches from Berlin 1936, Munich 1972, and all Summer Games from Seoul 1988 to Beijing 2008. Visitors can also enjoy a hands-on experience at the museum’s archery simulator, located on the upper floor. Whether you are a history enthusiast or simply curious, the German Museum of Shooting and Archery at Callenberg Palace offers a unique exploration of Germany’s shooting and archery traditions.
